'Love apple pie"

C$1,827.00Price

Original mixed medium Acrylic/collage on 40h x 36w x 1.5d " gallery wrapped canvas.

The inspiration for this painting is part of my 'Respect our Neighbours' series.  Who doesn't love apple pie!  Like us, our beautiful neighbours love the fruit of the apple and when the harvest season is coming to a close and the bears are trying to increase their calorie intake to sustain themselves through the winter fruit trees are such an attractive.  Now don't get me wrong, I know many believe that keeping the fruit their to allow for the bears to to eat I totally understand is a heart warming jesture.  However, if you are living in an areal like us on the North Shore or lower mainland,  we are actually putting our bears at risk.  They have such amazing intelliengence and memory that they will keep coming back that puts them at risk.  If you want to support our bears contact one of the fabulous conservation organizations and ask them how you can donate your fruit to one of their rehabiliation centers or take the fruit way up into the mountains and leave it there for them.  Check on the later advice first with experts.  I understand they do this over in Europe but I just want to make sure we are all being mindful and safe so no one is at risk.

When you look into this piece you will see images of a young family being responsible and picking the apples from the tree.  Mama bear us teaching her cub how to forge for apples.  He looks a little concerned as he knows someone is watching him.   Those apples are actually individual apple pies and if you look even closer there is some favorite apple pie receipes.

We are so fortunate to live in this beautiful place on earth and we have to make sure that all that our actions are mindful and respectful to help protect for futures to come.
