'Enchanter-Black Ash'

'Enchanter-Black Ash'

Birthdate: February 18 - March 17th

Key characteristics of the Black Ash Tree: Free-thinker, Imaginative, Insprirational

My impressionistic interpretation of the Ash is to showcase why it has been given the name of Enchanter.  The spring buds and juvienal branches display out, buds looking like to me a snake head drawing you in to their story. The quietness of the Ash along with its spirit creates an attractiveness to others.  Not concerned of what others think the Ash is just soaking in the imagination and creativity that it understands. In  constant state of renewal the Ash rarely places value on what others might think of them.  Yes, the Ash is 'Enchanter'.

The inspiration to paint trees and create a series came from my passion for nature and feeling that we are all connected.  I was researching specific trees to paint and discovered the Druid Calendar and the 13 trees. My roots are celtic and felt this was meant to be.  Each tree painting is created with my pallet of acrylic paint, brush, and acrylic pen using bold strokes to give the texture and movement conveying the unique characteristics of the specific tree.
